Illinois Certification Testing System (ICTS) includes seven different assessment areas ranging from Basic Skills, which includes reading comprehension, language arts (grammar and writing), mathematics, and a constructed response, to Language Proficiency for the Transitional Bilingual Certificate. Each test features either multiple-choice questions or a multiple-choice/constructed response combination.
